Nicholas Piramal Q2 net up 22 pc at Rs 67 cr
Nicholas Piramal India Ltd has posted an increase of 22.14 per cent in net profit at Rs 67.06 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
The total income (net of excise) increased 20.96 per cent to Rs 442.74 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, from Rs 366.01 crore a year ago, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The group posted a profit after prior period items of Rs 53.69 crore for the quarter ended September 30, where as the same was at Rs 45.60 crore for the same quarter last year.
The total income of the group was Rs 654.83 crore for the quarter ended September 30, where as the same was at Rs 383.35 crore a year ago.
The consolidated results for the current quarter and half year ended September 30, include the results of UK-based NPIL Pharmaceuticals (UK) Ltd and Canada-based Torcan Chemical Ltd, which were acquired in December 2005 and the Morpeth facility acquired from Pfizer in June. The figures, therefore, are not strictly comparable.
