Natco Pharma launches Bortezomib injection

Natco Pharma Ltd on Wednesday launched brand Bortenat, used in the treatment of plasma cell cancer, in injection form.


MUMBAI: Natco Pharma Ltd on Wednesday launched brand Bortenat, used in the treatment of plasma cell cancer, in injection form.

The drug, being launched in 3.5 mg dosages, is a generic version of the oncology drug Bortezomib, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company said it has priced Bortenat at Rs 16,800 as against the imported version which is available for around Rs 75,000.

Bortenat is the first generic version of Bortezomib and with the launch of this product, the company hopes to capture a majority share in the domestic market for oncology drugs, it said.
