Natco is in race to bag a government contract for supply of 10 million Tamiflu, used to treat swine flu. Hetero Drugs, Strides Arcolab, Ranbaxy and Cipla are said to be in the fray. For the government contract, Natco is understood to have quoted about half the retail price.

This is the third such tender floated by the government to contain the spread of the influenza. Last month, city-based Hetero Drugs bagged the second tender to supply around 9 million doses of drugs at Rs 275 per 10 tablets.
