Marksans Pharma gets European approval
Marksans Pharma gets the approval to market its Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride drug substance in Europe.
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the firm informed that it had received certificate of suitability for the drug substance from the EDQM.
This Certificate of Suitability can be used by the manufacturers of pharmaceutical products in their applications for marketing authorisation to demonstrate the compliance of the drug substance used with the official monograph of European Pharmacopoeia. It is recognised by 35 signatory states of the European Pharmacopoeia Convention and the European Union.
Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride is mainly used to treat bacterial infections.
Shares of the firm closed at Rs 103.10, up 4.99 per cent at the BSE.
