Lupin receives US FDA approval for anti-inflammatory topical solution

NEW DELHI: Indian pharmaceutical firm Lupin Ltd has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration ( US FDA) to market a generic version of County Line Pharmaceuticals, LLC's Fluocinonide Topical Solution, the company said. The solution is used to relieve skin conditions like inflammation or itching that respond to the corticosteroid class of steroids.

Fluocinonide topical solution USP, 0.05% clocked sales of $32.4 million in the US, Lupin said in a release citing IMS MAT March 2017 data.

Lupin has so far received approval for 219 products and is still awaiting US FDA nods for 149 more products, the company added.

Share prices of Lupin at 3:32pm on Monday were up 0.09% at Rs 1,143.90 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
