MUMBAI: Pharmaceutical major Lupin Ltd on Wednesday posted a 26.79 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 56.03 crore for the quarter ended December 31, as compared to Rs 44.19 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The total income of the company (net of excise) increased 17.11 per cent to Rs 511.20 crore during the quarter under review, Lupin informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The group posted a net profit after minority interest of Rs 62.02 crore and the total income (net of excise) was Rs 515.32 crore for the quarter ended December 31, it added.
The Board of Directors, at its meeting today, approved floating a 100 per cent subsidiary company in the Netherlands by making an initial investment of up to Euro 20,000, the company said.
The said subsidiary would act as a special purpose vehicle for routing overseas investments to be made by Lupin.
