Lupin get the DCGI nod for IVABRAD

Pharmaceutical firm Lupin said it has received the nod of Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for IVABRAD tablets, used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, in 5 mg and 7.5 mg strengths.

NEW DELHI: Pharmaceutical firm Lupin on Monday said it has received the nod of Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for IVABRAD tablets, used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, in 5 mg and 7.5 mg strengths.

"IVABRAD is the latest addition to Lupin's portfolio of innovative complex formulations for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases," Lupin India Region Formulation Shakti P Chakraborty said in a statement.

IVABRAD will also go a long way to extend and strengthen our goodwill and franchise with cardiologists, in keeping with our market leadership credentials in the cardiovascular space, Lupin said.

The total market for the cardiac related drugs in India is estimated at Rs 3,663.8 crore, growing at around 15 per cent per annum.

Lupin's cardiovascular drugs business recored sales of around Rs 175 crore in the last fiscal and the company has around 5.03 per cent market share in the segment.
