Lincoln Pharma files patent for anti-cold drug

Ahmedabad-based Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd on Monday said it had applied for patent rights for a herbally mouth-dissolving anti-cold strip.


MUMBAI: Ahmedabad-based Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd on Monday said it had applied for patent rights for a herbally mouth-dissolving anti-cold strip.

The patent was applied on September 20 and its prime advantage of the drug is that it has no side effects as compared to other anti-cold preparations available in the market, Lincoln Pharma informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

In this drug delivery system the strip containing herbal medicaments gets dissolved in the mouth, leaving substantial residue that can be either be swallowed or ejected, it added.

The company's WHO-approved plant is ISO 9002 certified and its R&D centre is approved by the ministry of science and technology and the firm holds export-house status.

The shares of the company were trading at Rs 7.60, down 4.40 per cent at the BSE.
