J&J opens new pharma development centre

Janssen-Cilag and its parent Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development (J&JPRD) on Tuesday opened an analytical and pharmaceutical development centre here.

MUMBAI: Janssen-Cilag and its parent Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development (J&JPRD) on Tuesday opened an analytical and pharmaceutical development centre here.
The companies would also set up a pharmaceutical research facility on the same site by 2008, a press release said.
The new centre, spread over 2,400 square metres, would expand the company's position in this region, it said.
"We are pleased to expand our footprint here, which is a part of our overall strategy to perform high level research and development in the Asia Pacific region," J&JPRD Company Group Chairman and Managing Director Paul Stoffels said.
The centre will be a hub for analytical and pharmaceutical formulation development processes, increasing the company's capacity to discover and develop new drugs, it said.
