Indian Pharmacopoeia signs MoU with US co

The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with US Pharmacopoeia (USP) for cooperation in promoting quality of medicines.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with US Pharmacopoeia (USP) for cooperation in promoting quality of medicines.
The MoU will promote greater interaction between the two organisations through collaboration on regional scientific conferences, seminars, training, workshops and education courses, a release by USP said.
The agreement was signed by Union Health Secretary P K Hota, who is also the Chairman of IPC and Executive Vice-President and CEO USP Roger L Williams.
"Greater co-ordination and complementarily in the activities of the two pharmacopoeias would promote the interest of patients in both countries," Hota said.
Williams said the MoU was a major step towards cementing relationship with IPC and also expanding more collaborative works.
