Elder Pharma appoints Alok Saxena as MD and CEO

NEW DELHI: Elder Pharmaceuticals today said it has elevated Alok Saxena as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company.

The company's board, which met today, appointed Alok Saxena as the MD and CEO of the company with effect from October 11, 2013, for a period of five years, Elder Pharmaceuticals said in a filing to the BSE.

The move comes in the wake of demise of company's Chairman and Managing Director Jagdish Saxena, who passed away in Mumbai yesterday after a prolonged illness.

Currently, Saxena is Joint Managing Director of the company.

Mumbai-based Elder Pharmaceuticals manufactures and markets prescription pharmaceutical brands, surgical and medical devices.
