Cipla gets USFDA nod for HIV drug

Cipla said that it has received the US regulator's approval for Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets used for treating HIV-1 infection in adults.

MUMBAI: Pharma firm Cipla on Tuesday said that it has received the US regulator's approval for Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets used for treating HIV-1 infection in adults.

In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, Cipla said it has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets, 300 mg, manufactured by the company.

Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets are indicated for use in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults.

Shares of Cipla closed at Rs 235.80, down 1.03 per cent on the BSE.
