AstraZeneca Pharma India appoints Gagan Singh Bedi as MD

The company has accepted resignation of Sanjay Murdeshwar as MD and as a director. He is shifting to a global role within the AstraZeneca group.

NEW DELHI: Drug firm AstraZeneca Pharma India today said Gagan Singh Bedi will take over as the Managing Director of the company with effect from July 1.

The company has accepted resignation of Sanjay Murdeshwar as MD and as a director. He is shifting to a global role within the AstraZeneca group, based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, US, AstraZeneca Pharma India said in a filing to BSE.

"The Board has co-opted Gagan Singh Bedi as additional director on the board, who will take over as the Managing Director of the company with effect from July 1, 2017," it added.

Singh had joined AstraZeneca Pharma India in February 2006.

Prior to joining AstraZeneca, he had worked with Baxter India and Eli Lilly.

Shares of AstraZeneca Pharma India today closed at Rs 912 per scrip on BSE, up 0.62 per cent from the previous close.
