Alkem Laboratories appoints Amrut Naik as CEO

New Delhi: Drug firm Alkem Laboratories on Tuesday announced the appointment of Amrut Naik as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective November 11.

The decision was approved by the company's board of directors at its meeting on Tuesday, following the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee, Alkem Laboratories said in a regulatory filing.

Naik's term of appointment will continue for as long as he remains in the employment of the company.


He brings over 26 years of experience in building, scaling, and transforming global businesses across diverse areas, including branded formulations, generics, APIs, biologics, vaccines, specialty, and innovation-led portfolios, according to the filing.

Naik holds a bachelor's and master's degree in pharmaceutical science, as well as a PhD (Tech) in pharmacology, the company added.
