Abbott India appoints Ambati Venu as Managing Director

MUMBAI: Abbott India has appointed Ambati Venu as Managing Director and General Manager with effect from September 29, 2016.

Venu was with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, where he had stint of over two decades. Most recently, Ambati Venu was the Regional Vice President and General Manager – Asia, GSK Consumer, leading 11 Asian countries.

"Venu’s background in FMCG and OTC medicine, ability to embrace diverse cultures, engender trust and deliver productivity-led growth will be key assets at Abbott,"a statement from Abbott said. He will be based in Mumbai and report to Bhasker Iyer, Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals Division, Abbott.
