Home health care significantly improves coronavirus outcomes, shows study

The University of Pennsylvania has recently found that 94% of coronavrius patients who have been discharged to health care at home significantly improved when it came to symptoms and outcomes. 87% of these did not have any adverse effect. Home health care essentially refers to nursing by a skilled professional and physical therapy.

These findings were published in the Annals of Internal Medicine which stated that enough data is not available to explore the outcomes of patients who have been discharged after hospitalisation.

Those who have been infected by coronavirus have had many ramifications with regards to their health due to the disease. When returning home after undergoing short-term care at the hospital, a large portion of survivors have undergone pain, dyspnea, exhaustion and more.

The study looked at data from more than 1,400 coronavirus patients who were discharged from the hospital and sought home health care. It indicated that this has the potential to provide support to the patient and also help recover much faster than hospital care.
