“Radiology, pathology, or genomics today does not exist in isolation. Increasingly, clinical decisions require information from imaging, pathology, molecular testing and genomics to be considered together,” said Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Founder and Chairman, Mahajan Imaging & Labs. “This association with Neuberg allows us to accelerate that existing capability by bringing in additional scale, infrastructure and expertise.”
The partnership comes at a time when India’s organised diagnostics sector is expanding well beyond conventional testing. ICRA estimates that organised diagnostic players could see 12 to 14% revenue growth in FY2027, driven by wellness testing, specialised services and deeper penetration into non-metro markets.
“It took us two years of extensive engagement to align our vision and build this partnership on a foundation of genuine trust. Our commitment is to bring world-class diagnostic technology within reach of every citizen, prioritising early diagnosis and prevention to improve quality of life across North India,” said GSK Velu, founder, chairman & MD, Neuberg Diagnostics.
Kabir Mahajan, who will lead the joint venture, said the immediate priority is execution strengthening pathology and genomics capabilities, improving collection and sample logistics, integrating digital systems and reducing turnaround times across the network. He also flagged the role of technology and AI in supporting quality control, workflow management and reporting.
“The measure of success will not simply be how many centres we add, but whether we can deliver a consistent experience, reliable reporting and efficient access to a wider range of diagnostic services as the network grows,” he said.
The transaction was advised by Kornerstone Advisors and EY on the Mahajan side, with C&S Partners as legal advisor and Alvarez & Marsal and Dhruva Advisors conducting vendor due diligence. Neuberg was advised by Khaitan & Co. and Deloitte.
