Efforts to open cancer super speciality at IGIMS: Nitish Kumar

Efforts are being made to develop a super speciality for cancer treatment at IGIMS in Patna and develop facilities for treatment of heart, kidney and liver diseases.

PATNA: Efforts are being made to develop a super speciality for cancer treatment at IGIMS in Patna and develop facilities for treatment of heart, kidney and liver diseases so that people does not need to go outside, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said today.

For super speciality for cancer talks are on with Tata Memorial Institute and Atomic Energy department, Kumar said after laying foundation of a medical college in IGIMS ( Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences) here.

Doctors presence in the hospitals have been increased resulting in better footfalls in government hospitals across the state, Kumar said.

Many doctors working outside the state have come back leaving their job there, he said to highlight better medical infrastructure in the state now.

Kumar said that his government was interested in opening super speciality facilities in other medical colleges in Bihar.
