Apollo Hospitals is focusing on small cities for expansion and plans to surpass 12,000-bed capacity by 2015, a senior official said today.

TIRUCHIRAPALLI: Apollo Hospitals is focusing on small cities for expansion and plans to surpass 12,000-bed capacity by 2015, a senior official said today.

By the end of this month, Apollo would open a hospital in Nasik and one in Nellore by December, Apollo Hospitals CEO Chennai Region V Satyanarayana Reddy told PTI.

He also said the group would set up a hospital in Mumbai before the end of next year.

Earlier, Apollo Hospitals Tiruchirappalli, a 225-bed facility, the 62nd of the group, was formally inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, through video conference.

Apollo Hospitals Chairman Prathap C Reddy said on the occasion that with this launch, the hospital had surpassed 10,000-bed capacity.
