Fourth edition of BioAsia 2007 in Hyderabad
The Andhra Pradesh government along with the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA), the University of Hyderabad and the European Federation of Biotechnology is organising the fourth edition of annual BioAsia 2007 in Hyderabad.
Addressing a press meet on Tuesday, Dr B S Bajaj, secretary general of FABA said, this year, the conference was expected to have more B2B sessions as India was emerging as a global destination for pharma companies. "Last year, during the convention, 45 MoUs were signed of which over 50% were implemented," he added.
The state has also attracted many entrepreneurs to set up ventures in pharma sectors. Companies including Sri Balaji BioPharma Ltd, EPR Pharmaceuticals and Rational Lbad & Genomic Design have come up during last year. The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) has also announced its collaboration with city-based Celestial Labs for floating a new venture focussing on developing therapeutic peptides, IT and bioinformatics.
