Bayer launches disease resistant hybrid rice Arize Dhani

HYDERABAD: Bayer BioScience Pvt Ltd, a Bayer CropScience Group company, on Tuesday announced the launch of Arize Dhani, a disease-resistant hybrid variety of rice in India.

Arize Dhani offers a 'holistic solution' to BLB, a dreaded rice disease causing considerable produce loss (20-60 per cent) annually, a company release said here today.

"In India, BLB affects 6-7 million hectares annually causing huge yield losses," Bayer BioScience-India Head Mahesh Kumar Girdhar said.

"We are introducing Arize Dhani in Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Assam, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh where BLB is a major problem," he added.
