BANGALORE: Wipro is planning to enter the renewable energy business. Wipro has business interests in IT, consumer care and hydraulic engineering.
The company has sought shareholder approval for inclusion of this in the memorandum of association. A notice to shareholders said, ���To design, develop... of every goods and services, including equipment in connection with all types of renewable energy systems.���
Besides, renewable energy, Wipro has already forayed into the water purification business. Renewable energy and water businesses will come under the Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIE) segment.
