TPDDL to start phase-I of smart meters installation December 2018

Tata Power Delhi Distribution will invest about Rs 200 crore for implementation of 2 lakh smart meters in the first phase, Sinha said.

Installation of smart meters will help Tata Power Delhi Distribution that supplies power in north and north-western parts of Delhi, save cost of procurement of 25-mw peak-hour power requirement, Sinha said.
He also said that smart metering will help the utility in advanced monitoring and reducing commercial losses. Present commercial losses in the company's areas of operations stand at 8%.
