TN awarded for 8487 MW installed capacity in new energy

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu today bagged an award for having an installed capacity of 8487.72 MW in renewable energy.

The award was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Renewable Energy Global Investors' Meet (RE-Invest) in New Delhi.

Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Natham R Viswanathan received the award, an official release said.

Modi gave away awards to 12 States for their outstanding contribution in the field of Renewable Energy.
