Engineering firm Thermax on Monday said it has bagged a Rs 415 crore order from a steel company for setting up a captive power plant.

MUMBAI: Engineering firm Thermax on Monday said it has bagged a Rs 415 crore order from a steel company for setting up a captive power plant.

The company had secured the contract from a steel company for setting up a captive power plant for their upcoming blast furnace complex on an Engineering Procurement and Contract basis, Thermax said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange.
The captive power plant would use the waste gas from the furnace to produce power, it added.

This order is a part of the 4.2 MTPA steel capacity expansion of the steel maker. Thermax scope includes design, engineering, manufacture and commissioning of captive power plant, it said. Shares of Thermax closed at Rs 451.15, up 3.33 per cent on the BSE.
