Tata Power's Mumbai consumer base crosses 5 lakh mark

MUMBAI: Tata Power today said its customer base in Mumbai crossed the five lakh mark in April.

"We are happy to have achieved this milestone and stay committed to delivering superior services at competitive prices," Tata Power managing director Anil Sardana said in a statement. The company added 2 lakh customers consuming electricity below 300 units.

Tata Power's consumers below 300 units account for almost 65 per cent of its total consumers in the city. "We are undertaking steady network expansion within the city with a focus on 11 clusters and had 695 km of cable network till March," he said. The company has also added seven additional distribution sub stations (DSS) and 118 consumer sub stations (CSS), taking up the total to 24 DSS and 637 CSS.
