Suzlon says it will comply with law of the land

KOCHI: Suzlon Energy Ltd, the private wind mill power generating company against whom the Kerala government had decided to issue eviction orders from the tribal land illegally acquired by them at Attapady, today said it will always comply with the law of the land and be sensitive to community issues.

In a statement here, Suzlon said the company was always ready to cooperate with any inquiry conducted by any authority.

The Kerala cabinet had last week decided to evict the company from the land illegally acquired by them and restore the land to tribals at Attapady in Palakkad district.

The decision in this regard was taken on the basis of the report of chief secretary who had been asked by the Cabinet to look into the alleged irregularities in the alienation of tribal land at Nallasinga village in Attapady a few months back.

The company has also approached the high court seeking to restrain the state government from taking action against it.
