Suzlon Group gets wind turbines contract from Romania

REpower Systems has bagged a contract to supply wind turbines for a project in Romania, the first order for the Indian entity from the European nation.

NEW DELHI: Suzlon Group firm REpower Systems has bagged a contract to supply wind turbines for a project in Romania, the first order for the Indian entity from the European nation.

The wind farm in Romania is expected to be commissioned next year.

In a statement, Suzlon today said that REpower Systems would supply eight wind turbines, each having a capacity of 3.2 MW, for the project.

However, financial details were not disclosed. The wind turbine maker has set up Romanina subsidiary -- REpower Systems DTE Romania SRL -- headquartered in Bucharest.

"The wind farm in north-east Romania and the launch of the wholly-owned subsidiary mark REpower's entry into the Romanian market," Suzlon said.

The contract is from P.E. DEUS EX S.R.L., a project company of WSB International GmbH.
