Sterlite Power commissions Rs 3000 crore Kashmir transmission project

Sterlite group CEO Pratik Agarwal said the country will soon need to award tenders for large transmission lines, on the lines of Green energy corridors.

NEW DELHI : Sterlite Power expects bidding opportunities worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore in the next five years in the form of tenders from central and state governments for setting up and strengthening inter and intra state transmission system.

Sterlite group CEO Pratik Agarwal said the country will soon need to award tenders for large transmission lines, on the lines of Green energy corridors.

The company on Monday announced commissioning of its Kashmir transmission project set up at a cost of Rs 3000 crore. The line will transmit 1000-mw of incremental power to the valley.


"The line has been commissioned too, months ahead of schedule," Agarwal said.
