Managing director of Sterlite Electric Pratik Agarwal said the appointment comes at a critical juncture for the sector. “Frederic brings global perspective, disciplined execution, and deep sector insight at a time when grids worldwide must evolve to meet complexity and scale,” said Agarwal.

Trefois, who previously served as a non-executive independent director on the company’s board, takes over at a time when power grids globally are being reshaped by digitalisation, energy transition and rising demand for resilient infrastructure.
“As energy systems become more digital and interconnected, grids must become more intelligent and resilient. We will build solutions that help customers optimise asset performance, improve reliability, and make smarter capital investment decisions, while keeping sustainability embedded in how we design and deliver infrastructure,” Trefois said.

Sterlite Electric, which operates across manufacturing of capital goods and system integration solutions for power transmission, is positioning itself to tap into opportunities arising from grid upgrades and expansion across markets.
Before joining the company, Trefois was associated with Sécheron Hasler Group and SNC-Lavalin Inc., where he held leadership roles. An engineer by training, he holds degrees in civil engineering.
