Solar power for 35 villages in UP

As many as 35 villages across four districts of UP, including in the naxal-infested Sonebhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli, would soon be powered by solar energy.

LUCKNOW: As many as 35 villages across four districts of UP, including in the naxal-infested Sonebhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli, would soon be powered by solar energy.
The Non-Conventional Energy Development Agency (NEDA) proposes to set up solar street lights and provide power to individual consumers, its director Sanjay Bhoosreddy said.
NEDA will cover areas where it is not possible to provide power through conventional sources, Bhoosreddy said, adding that government was providing subsidy for developing non-conventional sources of power.
