S K Srivastava is new Coal Secretary
S K Srivastava, who is holding the charge of special secretary in mines ministry, will take over as Coal Secretary from June 1, a top official said today.
"S K Srivastava with the Mines Ministry will take over as Coal Secretary from June 1," the official in the Coal Ministry said.
Srivastava, a 1978 batch IAS officer, will succeed Alok Perti, who is retiring on May 31. However, Perti will continue as advisor to the Coal Ministry, the official said.
Perti, a 1977-batch IAS officer of the Assam Cadre, took over as Coal Secretary in September last year.
Srivastava was elevated to Special Secretary with Mines Ministry on April 17, 2012. He served as Additional Secretary to the Mines Ministry from August 23, 2011 to April 16, 2012.
