MUMBAI: Anil Ambani-run Reliance Power on Tuesday said that it has set up a team to look at opportunities in the country's nuclear power industry and held discussions with international players.

"We will watch the emerging scenario in the nuclear space closely and hope to play a meaningful role when the sector is eventually opened up for private participation," Ambani said.

Reliance Power is also exploring opportunities in wind, solar and fuel cell-based power, he told the company's shareholders at the annual general meeting here.

"We are considering the possibility of setting up a one-of-a-kind 100 MW grid interactive concentrating solar power plant through an exclusive relationship with a technology provider," Ambani said.

The Centre has announced incentives for grid interactive multi megawatt solar thermal power. "We are evaluating techno-commercial feasibility of commercially producing reformer-based fuel cell or hydrogen technology in India," he said.

"We are currently engaged in advanced discussions with a global pioneering company on the design, development and manufacture of reformer-based fuel cells," Ambani added.
