Rajesh Power on Thursday announced bagging a ‘mega order’ from Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL) worth ₹ 1,629 crore to modernise its power distribution infrastructure, raising the company’s order book to ₹5,400 crore, reported PTI.

According to the company, it would upgrade existing 11/22 kV GT (high tension) and LT (low tension) overhead electricity distribution networks into modern underground cable systems across multiple locations under DGVCL’s SI Scheme.

The project will involve deploying equipment compatible with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).

The company said the contract stipulated 24 months for the execution of the turnkey project.

Recording a 35% expansion, the turnkey project raised the company’s order book from ₹4000 crore to ₹54000 crore.

The firm had earlier secured a ₹472 crore order from the state power distribution company (discom) Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) in Gujarat.
