PVUNL inks MoA with ALIMCO for disabled empowerment

Ramgarh (Jharkhand): Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a Government of India undertaking, for welfare and empowerment of differently-abled, an official statement said.

"The MoA aims at improving quality of life and ensuring greater self-reliance for persons with disabilities in and around Patratu", said a PVUNL statement issued on Sunday.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PVUNL A K Sehgal said that under the agreement, PVUNL would organise an assessment camp in Patratu and surrounding areas to identify needy differently-abled persons.


"Through the camp, eligible persons will be registered, and their needs will be assessed. Based on medical assessment, beneficiaries will be provided assistive devices as per their requirement to help them become more self-reliant in daily life," said Sehgal.

The agreement was signed in the presence of PVUNL(CEO) A K Sehgal, Chief Medical Officer Dr Shipra Rani and Head of Human Resources Ziaur Rahman.

"Through this programme, efforts will be made to connect Divyangjans with mainstream society by providing necessary support, enhancing their mobility and enabling them to live a dignified and self-reliant life," the statement further stated.

PVUNL is a joint venture of NTPC Limited and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) developing the 4000 MW Patratu Super Thermal Power Project in Patratu of Ramgarh district in two phases, the statement claimed.
