PSEB sustains heavy loss after closure of unit

The Punjab State Electricity Board is suffering a daily generation loss of Rs 1.5 crore due to closure of unit no 3 of Ropar thermal plant.

PATIALA: The Punjab State Electricity Board is suffering a daily generation loss of Rs 1.5 crore due to closure of unit no 3 of Ropar thermal plant.

PSEB sources said here today the unit was closed on September 18 after the seizure of turbine and it would take approximately one month more to recommission the unit.

Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) experts visited the thermal plant today and assessed the damage to the turbine and other related equipments.

Besides the work on turbine, some pending jobs on rotor would also be completed during this shut down.
