Prakash Industries enters into deal with Chhattisgarh govt

Prakash Industries has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Chhattisgarh government to set up and operate a 600 MW thermal power station, at an investment at Rs 2,400 crore, in the state.

MUMBAI: Prakash Industries has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Chhattisgarh government to set up and operate a 600 MW thermal power station, at an investment at Rs 2,400 crore, in the state. The company has established a steel plant in Champa, Chhattisgarh.

The company would benefit from the project since it would be entitled to the following incentives:

The state government will assist the company in allotment of a captive coal block for the project and will facilitate all incentives available to industrial projects in the state as per the applicable industrial policy.

The company would be entitled to wheel the power through Power Grid Corporation of India or its own dedicated lines for its own use or for its customers. The project would be operational within a period of 3 to 4 years and would be financed through a mix of equity and debt.

At 12:07 pm, Prakash Industries shares were up 1.57 per cent at Rs 290.25 on BSE.
