Pradeep Kumar Sinha takes charge as Power Secretary

Pradeep Kumar Sinha has taken charge as Power Secretary, the government said today.

NEW DELHI: Pradeep Kumar Sinha has taken charge as Power Secretary, the government said today.

He assumed charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Power. He succeeds P Uma Shanker, who retired yesterday, an official statement said.

Sinha is a 1977 batch IAS officer of UP cadre. Earlier, he was Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping. He also served as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Sinha has held various assignments in his cadre state in the departments of irrigation, urban development, finance and investment and planning, among others.

He has also served as Director in the Power Ministry.
