Power Minister Veerappa Moily visits REC

NEW DELHI: M. Veerappa Moily, Minister of Power visited REC Ltd. on 28 th September, 2012. He appreciated the performance of REC that has resulted in REC getting 'MoU Excellence Awards' continuously for 18 years. He also acknowledged the role of REC in the power sector which leads to creation of wealth through increased economic activity.

Moily further directed that REC should make efforts to ensure revenue sustainability of electricity infrastructure created under RGGVY even after the projects are handed over.

He emphasized on a proactive role of REC in bringing about overall socio-economic growth of rural India resulting in upgradation of standard of living. Ashok Lavasa, Additional Secretary and B.N. Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power were also present on the occasion.
