Power breakdowns dip significantly in Haryana

The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHVBN) on Saturday said that the number of power breakdowns has reduced upto 253 per cent in eight districts.

CHANDIGARH: The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHVBN) on Saturday said that the number of power breakdowns has reduced upto 253 per cent in eight districts.

While giving this information here today, an official spokesman of the UHBVN said that a random analysis of the areas of district Ambala, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Jind, Panipat, Karnal and Sonepat had been carried out by the Nigam.

There had been a significant reduction in consumer complaints as well as damage of transformers or power supply system, he said.

He said that as many as 2442 domestic category applicants have applied for new connections after erection of the system. The revenue assessment had been 76.35 per cent against 54.59 per cent. Similarly, the revenue realisation also increased from 41.33 per cent to 59.38 per cent, he said.
