PFC pays Rs 248 cr dividend to govt for 2006-07

State-run Power Finance Corporation on Thursday said it has paid a dividend of Rs 248.05 crore to the government for fiscal 2006-07.

NEW DELHI: State-run Power Finance Corporation on Thursday said it has paid a dividend of Rs 248.05 crore to the government for fiscal 2006-07.

Of the Rs 248.05 crore, an interim dividend of Rs 145 crore was paid to the government earlier, a company statement said.

A final dividend cheque for Rs 103.05 crore was presented to Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde by PFC Chairman and Managing Director VK Garg yesterday, it added.

The company has also paid a dividend of Rs 11.73 crore to private shareholders. The total dividend pay-out constitutes 22.63 per cent of the paid-up equity share capital of Rs 1,147.77 crore and 26.34 per cent of the profit after tax, PFC said.
