Peechi Hydro-electrict project to be commissioned on January 7

THRISSUR: The Peechi hydro-electric project with a capacity of generating 1 x 1.25 mw will be commissioned on January 7, a senior official said today.

Work on the project costing Rs.11.45 crore was completed within two years on turnkey basis, Managing Director of the Public Sector Steel Industrials Kerala Limited ( SILK) Aaubid told newsmen here.

The minister for power and transport, Aryadan Muhammad would dedicate the project to the nation on Monday.

SILK's project engineering and export division has undertaken several construction projects like the Peppara Malankara and Amaravati Thirumurthy hydro-electric projects for Tamil Nadu Electricity board, he said.

Besides,work of projects worth Rs.18 crore were progressing, he added.
