Pay up your power bills or face disconnection

The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam says it would disconnect the power connections of customers who do not pay their bills within time.

HISAR: The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) on Wednesday said it would disconnect the power connections of customers who do not pay their electricity bills within the stipulated time.

"DHBVN has decided that in case any consumer fails to pay his electricity bill in time his connection will be disconnected immediately and the connection will not be reconnected for 72 hours, even after depositing the amount of the bill after due date," said a spokesman of Nigam in a release issued here.

He said that the Nigam has decided to launch a massive campaign of disconnection on account of non-payment of bills.

"The field officers have been given a target of disconnecting additional 50,000 connections of defaulting consumers by the end of August, 2007 in its area comprised of districts Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Guegaon, Mewat and Faridabad.
