NTPC's Power Stations get National Meritorious Performance Awards

NEW DELHI: Five Power Stations of NTPC Limited have bagged the prestigious National Meritorious Performance Awards instituted by ministry of power for the year 2007-08. NTPC ��� Talcher Kaniha received gold shield for best performance, NTPC- Ramagundam & NTPC- Korba received silver shield for second best performance and NTPC- Dadri and Rihand received bronze shield for third best performance.

The awards were presented by President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil to CMD MTPC R S Sharma, in the presence of union power minister Sushilkumar Shinde, minister of state for commerce and power Jairam Ramesh at a function held in New Delhi. Power secretary V S Sampath was also present on the occasion.

More than 15 organisations, generating companies, rural distribution franchisees and transmission companies were honored on the occasion for excellent performance shown by them in the respective areas during 2007-08.
