NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam awarded for contribution to National Solar Mission

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) has been awarded for successful implementation of Jawahar Lal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) Phase-I in Solar Power Developer Meet and awards 2013 held in New Delhi today.

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) has been awarded for successful implementation of Jawahar Lal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) Phase-I in Solar Power Developer Meet and awards 2013 held in New Delhi today.

Union minister of new and renewable energy Farooq Abdullah presented the award and appreciated the efforts put in by NVVN, nodal agency appointed by government of India for JNNSM Phase-I, for creating solar capacity addition from nearly zero initial solar capacity in the country.

Around 550 MW solar capacity both solar PV and solar thermal has been commissioned so far and the power is being supplied to various States viz. Rajasthan, AP, Maharashtra, Odissa, UP, Karnataka, Punjab, West Bengal, Tamilnadu etc. through inter state and intra state transmission system.

Various solar power developers who were part of JNNSM Phase-I under NVVN implementation scheme were also awarded for their early commissioning and operational performance on the occasion.
