NTPC to invest Rs 600 cr in Maharashtra

NTPC will invest Rs 600 crore in Mouda and Sholapur power projects in Maharashtra this year, Mr Sharma told ET.

MUMBAI: NTPC will invest Rs 600 crore in Mouda and Sholapur power projects in Maharashtra this year, Mr Sharma told ET. The power utility company is setting up 1,000 MW thermal power at Mouda near Nagpur and 1,320 MW at Sholapur for an investment of Rs 15,000 crore.

���We have acquired the land at Mouda ��� NTPC���s first power project in the state ��� and will start boiler erection for 500 MW by August. In Sholapur, land acquisition is on,��� he added. The projects are expected to be commissioned by 2013. On completion, they will supply to the western region. Shares of NTPC declined 1.2% to Rs 219.7 on the BSE on Friday.
