NTPC Q2 net up by 27%

Total income (net of excise) rose to Rs 7464.3 crore for the second quarter in 2006-07.

MUMBAI: State-run National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd on Monday posted a 27 per cent increase in net profit after tax at Rs 1473.9 crore for the quarter ended September 30, as compared to Rs 1163.5 crore for the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

Total income (net of excise) rose to Rs 7464.3 crore for the second quarter in 2006-07, up 14 per cent from Rs 6555.9 crore during the same quarter a year ago, the power major informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
