NTPC okays Rs 3,282 cr investment in hydel project
Power major NTPC Ltd on Monday said its Board of Directors has approved setting up of the 600 MW Loharinag-Pala hydroelectric power plant in Uttaranchal at an estimated investment of Rs 3,282.9 crore.
MUMBAI: Power major NTPC Ltd on Monday said its Board of Directors has approved setting up of the 600 MW Loharinag-Pala hydroelectric power plant in Uttaranchal at an estimated investment of Rs 3,282.9 crore.
The board also approved construction of a lift pump house of Farakka feeder canal as capital addition scheme at Farakka super thermal power plant at a cost of Rs 128.4 crore, it informed the stock exchanges.
The Loharinag-Pala project is part of NTPC's foray in the hydroelectric sector. The company is working on various hydel projects with a total capacity of about 4,400 MW.
NTPC is the country's largest power generating company with a total installed capacity of more than 24,000 MW.
