NTPC, CCTE set to explore thorium-based N-energy

NTPC Ltd and US-based Clean Core Thorium Energy have entered into a strategic partnership to explore the development and deployment of Advanced Nuclear Energy for Enriched Life (ANEEL), a thorium-based fuel for nuclear energy.

The plan to explore deployment of the fuel is subject to approval from the respective governments, the companies said on Friday.

This comes amid NTPC's plans to enter the nuclear energy sector.
