NTPC and Power Company of Karnataka Ltd sign MoU

Central sector power PSU NTPC and Power Company of Karnataka LTD (PCKL) on Monday signed a MoU for development of 4000 MW Mega Power Project at Kudgi in Bijapur district today in Bangalore.

NEW DELHI: Central sector power PSU NTPC and Power Company of Karnataka LTD (PCKL) on Monday signed a MoU for development of 4000 MW Mega Power Project at Kudgi in Bijapur district today in Bangalore.

NTPC chairman RS Sharma and managing director of PCKL Vijya Narasimha signed the MoU in the presence of Karnataka chief minister B.S.Yeddyurappa, heavy industries minister Sontosh Mohan Dev and minister of state for power Jairam Ramesh.

As per the MoU, NTPC will setup its maiden 4000 MW Kudgi Super Thermal Power Project (Stage I - 3x500 MW + Stage -II 2x 800 MW), in Bijapur District in Karnataka.

NTPC and KPCL also signed a MoU to setup 500 MW capacity Wind Power Projects in Karnataka. Earlier, the state government released an order allocating the 500 MW, Wind Power Projects during the MoU signing ceremony.
